How to use the Grades 1–3 Math Vocabulary Wheel
This foundational math spinner selects one concept at a time for students to define, build, draw, act out, or connect to a simple mathematical story. The goal is to make early math language visible through objects, pictures, numbers, and explanations.
- Spin the wheel to choose one grades 1–3 math word.
- Open the Definition add-on and classify it as a number idea, operation, result, pattern, measurement, shape or space idea, fraction, or graph term.
- Show the meaning with counters, a drawing, a number sentence, a shape, a measurement example, or simple data.
- Spin again and explain how the two words are connected or why they should not be confused.
- Finish with one accurate spoken or written math sentence.
