Vocabulary Match FAQ

Quick answers about boards, modes, matching controls, scoring, corrections, dictionary links, and result snapshots.

What is Vocabulary Match?

Vocabulary Match is a free online learning game where players connect eight words with eight shuffled definitions and review the complete board afterward.

How do I create a match?

Select a word, then choose the definition that best matches it. A connection line and matched-pair list show the relationship you created.

Can I change a match before submitting?

Yes. Remove or replace any pair before submission. The board is graded only after all eight words have a definition.

How is Vocabulary Match scored?

Each correct word-definition pair counts once, producing a score out of eight. Incorrect pairs are clearly identified in the review.

What is the difference between Easy, Random, and Challenge?

Easy emphasizes familiar concrete words, Random creates mixed review, and Challenge uses more academic, abstract, or precise vocabulary.

What happens after I submit the board?

You receive a score and a full review. Missed pairs show your selected meaning, the correct definition, an example, and a link to the word’s dictionary page.

What is included in the results snapshot?

The downloadable image includes the score, mode, date, and words that need review. It does not ask for a student name, email, or other personal details.

Is Vocabulary Match timed?

No. Players can compare definitions and revise all eight matches without a countdown.
