Solo is a survival challenge. Local multiplayer keeps everyone on one device, while online challenges let two signed-in players complete the same round separately.

Competitive rewards
Challenge a player, earn Honey, and climb the leaderboard
Sign in, choose Online challenge, and search for another player by their exact display name. They can accept or decline from the notification centre. After both players complete the same nine questions, HiveWire reveals the result and updates eligible competitive records.

Game score and Honey are different.
Your trivia score decides the match. Honey is added to your WordHive.app Honey Jar after an eligible online result. Up to five matches per player and two against the same opponent can count each day; later matches stay playable as friendly games without Honey or rating changes.

Is HiveWire a daily game?
Yes. HiveWire offers a shared daily trivia round, and practice play is available when you want another run.
How many questions are in HiveWire?
Each round has nine trivia questions per player, with four choices for every question.
What causes a crack?
A wrong answer creates one crack. It earns no points and resets your consecutive-answer streak.
What happens after three cracks?
In solo mode, the third crack ends the run. In multiplayer, every player continues through all nine turns.
How does the streak scoring bonus work?
The first correct answer earns 100 points. Each consecutive correct answer adds another 25 points to that answer's value until a wrong answer resets the streak.
How does local multiplayer work?
Two to four players share one device and take turns answering. No room code or second device is required.
How does an online challenge work?
Two signed-in players complete the same nine-question round on separate devices within 48 hours. The result stays hidden until both players finish, then score and tie-break rules decide the winner.
How much Honey can I earn?
In an eligible online challenge, the winner earns 20 Honey, the other player earns 5 Honey, and each player earns 10 Honey for a draw. A perfect 9-for-9 win adds 5 bonus Honey. Daily limits keep ranked rewards fair.
Can I choose a trivia category?
Yes. Choose Anything Goes or one of seven focused categories before starting the round.
Does HiveWire explain the answers?
Yes. After every answer, HiveWire shows the correct choice and a short explanation before play continues.
Can I practice again?
Yes. Use practice mode after the daily round when you want another set of HiveWire questions.
